Local food isn’t political.
Honestly, I’m so far removed from whatever is happening in the White House most days.
What matters to me is that my neighbor George has years of gardening wisdom and will probably hand me extra tomato starts when I accidentally kill mine…. again.
What matters to me is knowing Josh down the road has a tractor and would probably help me dig fence posts if I needed a hand.
What matters to me is that our friend Rick is carrying the heavy weight of caring for an elderly family member full time right now… and maybe what he really needs this week is someone to show up with homemade cookies and remind him he’s not alone.
Knowing the people around you matters.
The farmers market was never just about vegetables and bread. It’s about building the kind of community where people know each other, help each other, feed each other, and show up for each other.
That’s the kind of future I care about building.
Just stronger, healthier, more connected communities — right where we are.
And I love Lyman for it!!
